Polo Summer School
In July, we work with Lucton School to deliver a polo summer school that is suitable for all abilities.
Our highly qualified HPA instructors and licensed polo ponies move into the schools impressive set up and cover practical and theory lessons based around the world of polo to UK and international students.
Accommodation, meals and after school activities are organised by Lucton staff who are also on site to support and supervise where required.

Rules & Tactics
Our tactics board is used to demonstrate the rules and tactics. During these lessons, students can cover safe play from the ground. They will also analyse polo matches in the classroom.

Stable Management
Students help our team care for the polo ponies. During their time with us they will learn the importance of tack and equipment, how to reduce injuries, fitness and training and the feeds that they require.

Chukkas
Instructional chukkas are played daily in preparation of the tournament on the last day. All training is set at a comfortable speed, depending on the rider's ability.

Swing Instruction
Swing instruction is given daily, using the wooden horse or short mallets. The correct swing technique can reduce strain on the body and reduce injuries.

Polo Riding
When suitable, we make the most of the school’s beautiful surroundings by hacking out the polo ponies and increasing the students riding skills.

Tournament
To finish a fun week off, the students do a tournament against each other in front of the school and their parents. Prizes are awarded to the winners.

What To Pack

Polo Mallets
We advise that students bring their own polo mallets so that they have their preferred weight. However, we do have academy mallets that they can borrow.

Polo Equipment
All students should have riding boots, knee pads, gloves and sensible clothing. White jodhpurs/jeans are required for the tournament. Elbow pads and eye protection is optional.

Riding Helmet
Riding helmets must be three paint harness. However, they do not have to be a polo helmet.

Waterproofs
A warm waterproof coat is highly recommended as the English weather can be unpredictable.

School Activities
Lucton school has sports and swimming facilities on site. We advise that students pack for a range of activities, as well as comfortable clothing for movie nights.
