Since 2006, J F Polo Academy has been dedicated to developing confident riders and skilled polo players. Whether you are stepping into the saddle for the first time or refining your competitive edge, our academy provides professional coaching in a supportive, high-performance environment. Our experienced coaches focus on not only technical skills, but also on strategy, teamwork and respect for the horse - the heart of every polo match. Through structured lessons, chukkas and competitive opportunities, players build confidence, discipline and a deep understanding of the sport.

Socials and Team Building
Polo truly is the most addictive and sociable equestrian sport. Here at the academy we thrive off this, creating a fun, lively and welcoming environment with BBQ/Asado evenings after chukkas, ending with drink around the fire pit. We also arrange regular academy socials at some of the best locations, Chester and UK polo has to offer. It is not all about lessons, training and tournaments; polo is also about becoming immersed within one of the greatest social networking groups there is.
In 2018 we collaborated with Cheshire Polo Club, located in little Budworth, to help provide a natural feed of new players from grass-roots level to club polo. When our clients reach this level, we offer all the support that they require. Including purchasing their own polo ponies and passing their rules tests.
Polo Pony Hire
Our professional team offers exhibition matches or polo demonstrations at a wide range of events, including The Royal Cheshire Show, open days and weddings! We have years of experience working with hospitality managers and film crews, including Netflix. Our horses are desensitised to lively environments, making them a pleasure to work with.
Polo Livery
We offer a professional, stress free and fun livery experience. Clients enjoy free academy chukkas and stick and ball sessions, discounted lessons, trips to the beach and farm rides as well as transport to Cheshire polo club.

Claire Fielding
JFPA Manager
Since 2017 Claire has used her years of experience in the equestrian industry to improve and streamline the daily operations. Along side the office work, she is a keen player and loves to be hands on with the training and day to day running of the yard.
James Fielding
HPA Instructor
Experienced Hurlingham Polo Association coach for over 15 years, who has played high-goal polo professionally, teaches worldwide, all year round. Having played polo in over 15 countries up to a 3-goal handicap, you are assured of a wealth and variety of experience.
Haseeb Minhas
HPA Instructor
Formally a 4-goal professional polo player major in the Pakistan army, Haseeb lives and breathes polo. We are very lucky to have him on our team to help with lessons, experiences and chukkas on a regular basis.
Dale Eccleston
Yard Manager
Dale is a very handy man who joined our team in 2026. He is using his years of experience with equine and game keeping to maintain the high standard of the daily yard operations and ensuring horse welfare. He is also assisting with many yard development projects.
Our Academy Polo Ponies
Our academy is blessed to have a large number of polo ponies available for all levels of riders to enjoy. Most of our team have been purchased as 3 year olds, produced by us and then played professionally, before joining the academy. We also care for two of the most important horses on site, Lorna and Renoir, our 29 year olds, who are now enjoying retirement together after years of service.
As part of our licence, all polo ponies are routinely checked by a vet to ensure that they are in good health and able to continue working on the academy. We can also offer credit for liveries who pass the licence requirements and work on the academy. This helps owners reduce their livery invoice.
