One to one lesson with one of our instructors. You can use this time to learn the basics, improve your skills or focus on one aspect that you are struggling with (ridden or polo). These lesson can also include swing instruction on the wooden horses and HPA rules and tactics on the tactics board. 

No riding experience is required to have a go. 

Try polo with your own group (2+ riders). In these lessons we cover polo riding, swing instruction, stick & ball and some fun chukkas (match) against each other. 

Basic riding experience is required for larger groups 

Beginner groups are held on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. At this stage you will be covering the basics of polo, including learning the polo swing techniques, polo riding and chukkas rules. When possible, these sessions end with instructional chukkas (a fun match against each other). All lessons are done at a comfortable speed to suit the riders ability.  

Basic riding experienced is required 

Children’s groups are held at the weekends. Each season covers stick & ball, tactics and fun chukkas. We do advise private lessons to get the basics before starting the academy groups.

These groups are held at the weekends. Once you have worked up to this group from the beginners, you will start to up the pace in chukkas and learn more advanced swings and tactical plays. 

Basic polo experience required 

Advanced clinics are a great way to prepare yourself for tournaments. Each session is run like instructional chukkas with instructors and an umpire who will teach you penalties and reinforce the rules or safe play. We also use 30min after the ridden session to cover a practical lesson. This can include, tack, safety equipment, swing instruction or tactics. 

Polo experienced required 

Our ponies and clients can enjoy a local farm ride. We do this as a treat for regular clients as we know their ability and the horses that they are suited to. 

We offer regular team training for schools and universities. Our teams aim to compete in the supa or schools nationals with our support and pony hire. Contact us for more in formation. 

No riding experience is required 

We offer wooden horse swing instruction within the private lessons. However, you can also book a 30min lesson on one of our wooden horses (Woody and Twiggy) with a HPA instructor. These season can be filmed, allowing you and your instructor to analyse and improve your swing technique. 

We hire our horses out for a range of events, weddings and filming requirements, as well as  polo tournaments sand Polocrosse’s training with local teams. 

Our team have done work with The Cheshire Housewives, at home with the Furys, The Hunted, the Royal Cheshire Show, Equine therapy classes, weddings and many more.  

Our polo ponies also play polocrosse with local teams based in Wales and Cheshire. All horses are hired through the team managers and in advance of the training dates.
